About E-Reserves

Grace Library’s Electronic reserves (E-Reserves) service offers electronic access to class reading materials (journal articles, portions of books, etc.) through Carlow's Blackboard system. Using E-Reserves, class readings can be accessed and printed at home, at work or on campus.

All electronic reserve materials are governed by United States copyright law. The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies of copyrighted materials. The person making copies of these materials is liable for any infringement. By using this Electronic Reserves system you agree to abide by the fair use provisions of the Copyright Law.


New to E-Reserves?

If you are a student in the class that is utilizing E-Reserves, read the E-Reserves Research Guide (PDF). You will need to enroll in E-Reserves once each semester.


Already Enrolled in E-Reserves?

If you have already enrolled in the Grace Library E-Reserves class(for this academic year) on Blackboard you can go to the Carlow Blackboard Web site, login to your Blackboard account, open the Grace Library Electronic Reserves course and access your reserve materials.


Faculty Member?

If you are a faculty member and wish to place materials on E-Reserve please view the information below.

System Requirements

Adobe Acrobat - E-Reserve materials are formatted as Adobe PDF documents. You need to have the Adobe Reader installed on your PC to view them. This is free software.

To download the Adobe Reader go to: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html.

Dial-up Users - If you are using a dial-up connection to the Internet you should be aware that the E-Reserve document files are quite large and will take a long time to download. The E-Reserves documents are also available on reserve in print at the Library Circulation Desk.
