Library Mission Statement

The mission of Grace Library is to meet the information needs of the Carlow University community by supporting collections and services that will foster academic excellence and promote the process of self-directed, life-long learning.

The library collections, both print and electronic, should be intellectually balanced and encompass the whole range of undergraduate, graduate and certification studies. They should be well organized and easily accessible in an environment conducive to reading and learning which frees students to think clearly and creatively.

The library staff should provide students with expert consultation and assistance in locating information and planning search strategies. As one of several libraries in the Pittsburgh area, Grace Library can make efficient use of resources from cooperation with other libraries and by pursuing the opportunities afforded by technology.

The responsibility to fulfill these needs rests jointly with the University administration, the Library staff and every member of the University faculty.
